I come from a conservative, Moral Majority home, and I voted for every Republican presidential candidate since Reagan—until Trump. As a retired Baptist pastor, I’ve tried to avoid politics, but there comes a time when silence becomes complicity.
The Trump administration is leading America into a moral cesspit. Too many in Congress and the Senate have failed in their duty, choosing loyalty to power over service to the people.
“Trumpublicans” claim the name of Christianity, but their actions—toward the poor, the homeless, refugees, and victims of injustice—stand in direct opposition to the teachings of Christ. President Trump’s treatment of women and children, and his economic policies that reward the wealthy while burdening future generations, are neither moral nor wise.
His “Trump 28” merchandise, sold through the White House and online, reveals a disregard for constitutional limits. His willingness to deploy the military in American cities while provoking conflicts abroad feels like preparation for martial law—a means to hold power rather than serve the nation.
I love this country too much to remain silent as it’s led further into division, greed, and moral decay. I originally was making “No Trump 28” gear for myself, but I believe there are many others—Christians, traditional Republicans, Independents, and Democrats alike—who share these concerns.
